Landsat 5 Testing

Landsat 5 Testing

The Landsat 5 Mission Operations Center will be conducting tests to document the performance of the TM transmitter (the primary X-band TWTA that was recently switched back on after being shutdown since 1987). This test could last up to 24 days beginning Tuesday, February 23. The 24-day test will be conducted with fixed latitudes over several primarily northern hemisphere ground stations. The Landsat archive at EROS will be minimally impacted (i.e. U.S. data will be collected), but acquisitions by other northern receiving stations and all southern receiving stations are not being made during this time (i.e. very little foreign data will be collected).
