Landsat Legacy Oral Histories Recorded in Santa Barbara

Landsat Legacy Oral Histories Recorded in Santa Barbara

A set of Landsat Legacy interviews were conducted just north of Santa Barbara, CA on Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006. Landsat veterans from the Raytheon Santa Barbara Research Center were digitally recorded as they recounted their experiences building the MSS, TM, ETM, and ETM+ sensors that flew on the Landsat satellites.
In the morning, Dr. Robert Tally, an early President of SBRS was interviewed. A group oral history was then conducted with program managers and engineers that worked on the TM instrument: Ralph Wengler, Fletcher Phillips, Jack Engel, and Jim Young.
In the afternoon, program managers and engineers from the ETM and ETM+ projects were interviewed. This included Larry Long, Roberto Diffoot, Bill Holzer, and Jim Kane.
