National Science Education Standards (NSES)

We felt that the material covered in the Landsat-7 exercises covered the following topics listed in the NSES standards.

Grades K-4:

- Earth and Space Science: Properties of earth materials; Objects in the sky; Changes in Earth and Sky

- Science and Technology: Abilities of technological design.

Grades 5-8:

- Physical Science: Transfer of energy
- Life Science: Populations and ecosystems
- Earth and Space Science: Structure of the Earth's system
- Science and Technology: Abilities of technological design; Understanding about science and technology

AAAS Project 2061 Benchmarks

3C (3-5) Any invention is likely to lead to other inventions. Once an invention exists, people are likely to think of other ways for using the invention that were never imagined at first.

3C (3-5) Because of their ability to invent tools and processes, people have an enormous effect on other living things.
