Using Landsat data, Sahabat Walhi was able to provide evidence that millions of acres of Indonesia's tropical rainforest were being lost. Indonesia's large expanses of tropical forest are considered some of the world's most biologically diverse ecosystems, but deforestation caused by logging, agricultural expansion, fire, and human migration are driving many species to extinction.
