Landsat Part of LaunchFest
Sep. 13 • On Saturday, NASA's Goddard Space
Flight Center opened its gates to the public for LaunchFest. LaunchFest
celebrated Goddard's upcoming mission launches and showcased the
work done at the Center. The Landsat Project took part in LaunchFest.
Members of the Landsat Project provided information about Landsat's
long history and about the Landsat Data Continuity Mission's future
launch. Visitors were also encouraged to join in two Landsat activities.
The first activity challenged visitors to identify differences in
Earth images taken at two different moments in time. The second activity
invited visitors into a Landsat "pixel" to help people understand
Landsat's spatial resolution. Goddard estimates that nearly 13,000
people visited the Center for LaunchFest..
