Landsat at 2006 AGU Fall Meeting

AGU 2006 Fall Meeting logoAt the annual fall AGU meeting in San Francisco, Landsat was featured in 80 different scientific talks and posters. The wide scope of these presentations indicates the large array of applications that benefit from Landsat data. Subject matter included: forest disturbance and regrowth, evapotranspiration, surface water dynamics, paleofluvial system analysis, shoreline mapping, carbon estimates, snow line and glacier assessments, volcano monitoring and more.
The Landsat Project Science Office (LPSO) gave two Landsat-related presentations. Jim Irons, the LDCM Project Scientist, gave a talk titled, “Thermal Imaging and the Landsat Data Continuity Mission.” While the LPSO Education and Public Outreach group presented a poster titled, “Bridging the Divide: Translating Landsat Research Into Usable Science.”
