Landsat at Odyssey of the Mind

Landsat at Odyssey of the Mind

From May 21-25, Landsat outreach coordinators Michael Taylor and Ross Walter along with Earth Science Public Outreach Lead Trena Ferrel supported Odyssey of the Mind World Finals at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa.

At the event, Taylor, Walter, and Ferrel ran a booth that housed activities and handout materials, while hosting presentations to highlight the benefits of the Landsat program and GLOBE observer. The booth featured a spectral matching activity, the STELLA DIY handheld spectrometer, Landsat resources, and information on the GLOBE Observer app.

Over the four days, more than 700 teams representing over 10 countries and 42 states attended the event. Many of these participants visited the booth, asked questions in talks, and engaged in activities. This event allowed for thousands of bright minds to be exposed to the world of remote sensing and explain how NASA science is studying our changing planet.
